Background

On 16th April 3 men were murdered and 2 others arrested in Santa Cruz by Bolivian security services. They were allegedly part of a team meant to assassinate Bolivian President Evo Morales.

Firstly, as can be seen from this video, (CLICK HERE) (Caution: Graphic Content) the men were in bed and unarmed. Hardly the "firefight" the police chief said it was.

Secondly -the alleged "arms cache" that the team had was found in a house "nearby" though only put on show today, there is no evidence that the group had or went near any weapons and clearly as the video shows- they were unarmed. No other evidence has been seen.

Thirdly, only two of the men had military experience Eduardo Flores (49) and Mario Tadic (58) who both fought in the war in Croatia. Mario has a young wife and family- hardly the Jackal. The three others aged between 23 and 29 had no military experience, and according to his friends the Irishman Michael Dwyer (24) was described as "a bit of a Walter Mitty".

Flores admitted in an interview shown after his death that they were there to assist the opposition to "defend themselves", they were not mercenaries, they were unarmed, and are guilty of nothing apart from their intentions.

The dead were Magyarosi Arpad (29), a Hungarian, and Irishman Michael Martin Dwyer (24) along with Eduardo Rosa Flores (49), a Bolivian-Hungarian. The two men arrested were Bolivian-Croat Mario Francisco Tadic Astorga (58) and Elot Toazo, a Hungarian computer expert.

We demand a fair trial for Tadic and Toazo, and an independent inquiry into the killings of the other three men. For the sake of the families they have left behind.

Biography

Mario Francisco Tadic Astorga born was born in 1954 in Cochabamba, Bolivia. He then moved to Chile where he grew up.

At the outbreak of war in the former Yugoslavia in 1991, Mario travelled there and joined the newly created Croatian Army, rising through the ranks to become a Captain and serving with distinction during the war with 1st Guards Brigade.

He retired from the Croatian Army in 1996 and settled in Croatia. Mario lives with his girlfriend Karolina and baby son (Marijan) in Osijek.

This site is dedicated supporting Mario Tadic, held without trial in Bolivia for two years.....
